Typhoon Haiyan Relief In The Philippines

On November 8th, 2013, one of the strongest tropical cyclones ever recorded known as Typhoon Haiyan, devastated portions of Southeast Asia, particularly the Philippines. According to United Nations officials, almost 11 million people have been affected by this natural disaster and many are homeless.
Members of our TASK team have family members or know someone who was affected by this devastation and wanted to help immediately. Staff members collected donations while the company matched the dollar value collected. And with the help of the Government of British Columbia who also promised to match any company's contribution, TASK TOOLS raised $2,000 in a span of days to the Red Cross.

But we wanted to do more.

A contact from the province of Iloilo in the Philippines reached out to one of our staff members and asked if we could help. Iloilo was one of the areas directly hit by the typhoon and many people were left homeless. There were a lot of tradespeople in that region and they wanted to rebuilt their homes and community, but they did not have the tools to do so.
TASK TOOLS quickly put together a pallet of necessary hand tools, power tool accessories and leather bags  to ship to Iloilo. Thank you to all the staff that donated and organized this relief effort! Well done!
